Cafe Racing is alive and well in the mountains
of Tennessee. As a matter of fact, with members in seven states, we
pretty much have the South covered. The ICR history
dates back to 1983 and today we have around 40 members.
We're fortunate to have very experienced riders in the group and there's
a high level of trust in each others abilities. This is a great atmosphere
for sport riding and none of us take it for granted. We don't tolerate
squids but we're happy to help newer riders. Most new riders are willing
to take advice and they appreciate someone taking the time to help them.
Of course, the first lesson is: always wear full leathers! The second
lesson: the ICR "escape
technique".
We
have several past and current WERA
racers, including national and regional champions. Check our News archives
for some interesting reports from the racers perspective.
For the non-racers of the group, track days have quickly become the
most anticipated events of the riding season. To all you "fast"
guys out there: get the hell off the street when you want to test yourself
and your bike. Track days are a blast. They're challenging and a heck
of a lot safer than the street. Track days are available at many tracks
throughout the country and we have links to several Track
Day organizations. Check these web sites for more info and, as they
say, sign up early! See the Gallery section for track day photos.
