April 28, 2002 WERA Sportsman Series -
Talladega Grand Prix Raceway
David Skiles "got the monkey off his
back" in grand style by winning two races. Not only were they his
first races of 2002, they were also his first two races ranked as an Expert.
Last year, as a novice, David spent three races getting familiar with
his "new" 1995 Yam TZ250. The lessons learned, along with a
winter of bike preparation and a new paint scheme, resulted in F2 Expert
and Vintage 7 wins. David's TZ250
Jeff Adams, after more than a year away
from the track, did very well on his Honda Hawk 650. Turning very competitive
lap times in the 1:10 range, Jeff finished 7th in the Clubman Novice race
after starting from a Row 17, Second Wave grid position.
